Ground Planting Guidelines

  • Group size: Use small groups of 5 to 7 bulbs for tight spots, or clusters of 10 to 50 bulbs for large borders and dramatic impact.
  • Spacing: Keep each bulb about 3 to 5 inches (10 to 15 cm) apart so they have room to multiply and grow without overcrowding.
  • Depth: Plant them about 6 inches (15 cm) deep, or roughly three times the height of the bulb itself.

Pot and Container Guidelines

  • Density:

You can pack bulbs much closer together in pots—almost touching—because the display is temporary.

  • Depth: Set them about 4 to 5 inches below the soil surface in the container.
